A passenger was taken off an international flight in St. Johns last night with a suspected case of malaria. The Delta Boeing 757 was diverted to the city shortly after midnight, after a man became ill. The plane had been en route from Newark, New Jersey, to Amsterdam. A spokesperson for St. Johns International Airport says the passenger was isolated and taken to the Health Sciences Centre for diagnosis and treatment. The plane was back in the air within an hour.
