A pastor once told me that taking custody of my 8 week old niece after she was dropped on my doorstep was an impulsive decision and that my expectation that the church would help me, a widow, and her an orphan was wrong. I am often reminded of the widow in the Bible who only had a little but, she gave what she had in faith and in return God took care of her. Was she supposed to keep what she had in her tight little fist and worry about her self before she served others? Was she making an impulsive decision? NO! She did was she was called to do, acted on faith, and did Gods will even if it meant she was left with nothing! I have been praying for direction, that my heart ache and rejection would lead to something greater. Well, after six years I am happy to say that it has! Me and a few other ladies will be starting A Widows Might. Our goal will be to give what little we have to those who have less. We want to be the hands and feet of God! I shared this idea years ago with some of the ladies in my church and these ladies have prayed for me many times in my life.
