A perfect late summer daybreak and hard to pick out avian highlights with so many birds around. I was a bit late getting to the Curlew roost on West Beach shingle ridges but at least 140 birds departed. The Wader Pool attracted 16 Black-tailed Godwit and a small contingent of Sandwich Terns remains on Flat Beach, also there 3 Little Stint, Dunlin, Knot, Greenshank and 180 Golden Plover. Good numbers of Wheatear and Yellow Wagtails were present along Shore Ridges and Harbour Farm, 6 Grey Partridge were also good to see near Crittall Hide. Numbers of Green Sandpipers have hit a second peak over the past two days 17 birds were present this morning and were split between Harbour Farm Pools and the new saltmarsh area. Not to be left out 45 Great Black-backed Gull, 500 Black-headed Gull, 100 Common Tern, 31 Little Egret, Common Sandpiper, 20+ Redshank, 12 Snipe, Kingfisher, 60 linnet......... and so forth.
