A person posts that they found three puppies under their house. They dont know what age or breed, but then in the next sentence say that they do know they are half chow. (Per a comment later, they state that they know this because of the pups faces and tongues. Right. Because, of COURSE, as we all know, Chows are the only breed to ever have any pigmentation on their tongue, right? SHEESH.) THEN the poster states that theyll bring the pups inside later this evening (temps are supposed to drop into the teens), and that the pups are my babies, hate to sell them, its gonna kill me to let them go for $20 each. A. If youve just found them in your yard, and youre willing to sell them immediately for $20 bucks each, to the first person to grunt want on your thread, then I hope to God you dont seriously consider them your babies. Because that bodes ill for the 10 month old child you say you have. B. It is illegal, per NC state law, to rehome any pet you find unless it has been in your care for a MINIMUM of seven days; even then, you had better be able to prove that you advertised your finding of the animal during that time, or you can be charged with theft. Otherwise, your only legal recourse is to surrender the pet to a shelter. I could go on, but Im perilously to totally trashing my single New Years resolution as it is. *sigh*
