A post from Aunt Amy- Brayden had friends come today, it seemed - TopicsExpress

A post from Aunt Amy- Brayden had friends come today, it seemed like in swarms. He loved it, he enjoyed every minute, but then we realized he was overstimulated. Then after they left, his attitude changed. He was a bit bummed out. He wasnt angry, or hateful in anyway, he just wanted to go with. To me, it seemed that the positivity that came with friends quickly left when they left, and then left a little hole in his heart. The hole was a reminder that he is currently living in a hospital. It also was a reminder that he was missing out. He saw them use their phones, he wants his phone so bad. His day wasnt all bad. Dont get me wrong. But there was a definite shift. Bray will be in therapy on until 3 every day, even on Saturdays and Sundays. His mom and dad believe for right now, we should stick to family again. This isnt to make anyone feel bad. But to be honest, it is to control the crowd :) we are trying so hard to be what he needs us to be. If you can, make cards, send them to him at the hospital- he is in room 4312. Today I think it started to sink in that- the more he moves forward the more he realizes how much work it is going to take to get out ... My daughter (who is almost 10) was being super kind, sensitive, speaking slowly and loudly to him, and he said to me, She is talking to me like I am a cripple It broke my heart when he said it, because I knew she was just trying to be kind. When we left I asked her if it hurt her feelings, and she said No, why would it, he expressed his feelings, and thats good, he isnt stuffing how he feels, thats what we want right mom Yes, that was good. He isnt avoiding his feelings, but his feelings are real, raw, and we all need prayer. -- We need prayer on how to respond, encourage, and to stay positive. It breaks our heart to hear that he thinks that.-- He needs prayers that his current limitations do not define him, that this is the current situation, not the future. That God will restore his self worth, and that his self image is a healthy one. Romans 12:2- Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. --- Dear heavenly father- please do not let Braydens mind be conformed by what the world sees as limitations, but let his mind be transformed into how You see him. Help him to see that he was created in Your image and he is perfect and wonderfully made- Thank you all for your love, following, support, prayers, and donations. We are overwhelmed by the response for the xbox1, and just a quick update on that, we talked with the doctors and they thought it is a good idea for hand/eye coordination, we do not think we will introduce it until at least after thanksgiving, we are hoping he can hold off that long, our thoughts are that his therapy be his top priority, but I have to admit, those are some long wrestles hours to keep him from being board, on another note, so many of you graciously offered to send money, as it comes in if there is more than what we need, we will then pray to see where God directs the spending - we would never want to take advantage of your generosity- blessings to you all
