A pretty tough and very busy Spa 6 hour meeting for the team. Good results in the U2TC race for our Lotus Cortinas, David Tomlin/Martin Stretton 4th and Grant Tromans/Richard Meaden 3rd - a fantastic recovery after being forced to start from the pit lane! The 6 hour race ended early for both the teams Lotus Elans, David Tomlin suffered a big crash early on when the heavens opened in true Spa fashion. Fortunately all involved are ok but a real shame for David and his co-driver Nick Adcock as they had great pace in the early stages of the race. The Grant Tromans Élan 26R ran in the top 10 and battled for the class lead for 3.5 hours, started by Richard Meaden who passed over to Grant for the middle stint. The final change over to 3rd driver James Hanson was just about to happen when the differential expired, forcing a disappointing early retirement. Eventually, the race was red flagged before the full distance was reached as weather conditions continued to deteriorate in the darkness. Congratulations to everyone who got to the finish. Maybe next year will be our year!
