A profound comment by Carol Grant I do not claim to be a writer but would like to write some of my thoughts on what is being done to our forest, especially on crown land...I have an interest in our forest just for the simple fact I enjoy it, for walks, quietness etc...and am a woman...it alarms me greatly to have learned what is being done to our forest....I live near Perth Andover, and any time I pass through there I notice a steady convoy of logging trucks, all winter long, it seems our forest is being raped right before our eyes, just moments ago I was thinking of my father, who offered his very life for his country, and with such greed and corruption going on, is not what he and thousands of others fought for....then I thought of our national anthem...O Canada, we stand on guard for thee....do we really ?...are we singing that in truth ?...I would like to suggest we be thankful to those who are disturbed by what is happening, and spend their energy trying to inform the people, in my opinion such are true sons of Canada, not everyone has the gift of speaking up, but the least we can do is put our honest support behind those who do speak up, especially when it comes to matters that will in short time affect us all....of a truth...the love of money is the root of all evil....and it appears to me it is the love of money that has motivated some to slash our forest as they are doing, with complete disregard and lack of respect for what belongs to all of us, not only a chosen few....my wish is that the citizens of New Brunswick will stiffen their spines and demand their rights if we have any rights at all .....thank you to any who might read this...
