A “progressive” I know posted a quote from the Pope the other - TopicsExpress

A “progressive” I know posted a quote from the Pope the other day. It basically said that with all the wealth in the world why do we have so many hungry children? No comments from this person, just the picture with the quote. Well, this may be a nice sentiment but I just had to comment on it. I said that if you feel so strongly about this problem then cut a check to the U.S. Treasury for a thousand bucks, that way the government can provide food stamps for these hungry children. No surprise, this “progressive” deleted my comment. Just like most cowardly “progressives” out there, they don’t want to debate the merits of their philosophy, especially when someone calls them out on how their philosophy impacts their budget. They all want someone else to pay for all these programs they devise to “help” the less fortunate. The line they draw in the sand which defines “the rich,” is always above their income. And, when you suggest they pay more in taxes than they’re required, they scoff at the idea. Why? I believe that I pay enough in taxes. If you think you should pay more, then go ahead, cut that extra check to the feds. Unfortunately, just like most “progressives,” this person takes advantage of every tax break they can get. Hmmm, couldn’t those tax dollars you’re keeping through loopholes feed a hungry child tonight? Words are words. Actions are actions.
