A quick post showing some of the DETAILED WORK from an UPCOMING comic book cover!!!!! Heading out to San Francisco in a few hours, so i need to make this a quick post. Below is the Black and White image of one of the cover for our 250th issue of SPAWN. Sometimes I like to show the uncolored work because you get to see all of the line work that is put down on the page. I also took a small piece of the art and blew it up so you could see the amount of lines that are on a page. sometimes when the drawings get shrunk down for printing, I dont think readers realize how much is on the page because there may be a dark color or a word balloon that hid some of the line work. This cover was pencilled by the great Greg Capullo, who worked on the Spawn comic for years and did what I would call the definitive SPAWN look. I did the inking on this page and always enjoyed collaborating with Mr. Capullo (who is currently doing his magic pencils on the Batman character over at DC Comics. The writer on that Batman book is the talented Scott Snyder who has an awesome book at Image Comics called WYTCHES. Take a look at it youll be hooked! TODD
