DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR LIFE In Matthew 6:25 -34, Jesus tells - TopicsExpress

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT YOUR LIFE In Matthew 6:25 -34, Jesus tells us “Do not worry about your life, as to what you shall eat or what you shall drink nor for your body as to what you shall put on is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?” Even as I write these words, I realise how many times I sin by disobeying them in my day to day life. I worry all the time!! The truth is, worrying means a lack of faith in God’s ability to do all things. Sometimes its because I think that God will not be concerned with the little details of my life or that I am not worthy of His provision, sometimes its because I doubt and fear that my prayers will be answered so I try to plan for how I will meet my needs. I make a back up plan for God! In all of these things, whatever the reasons I confess that I grieve the Holy Spirit because I am allowing the voice of tomorrow and my needs to drown out the promises of salvation and abounding grace. I am giving my wisdom equality with Gods will for my life! This is sin and I repent! In verses 31-34 Jesus sets out the cure for my sin of worry!! When anxiety or fear comes knocking , I can simply choose not to open the door and say as Jesus did when tempted It is written.... I need to believe in Faith that my Heavenly Father knows exactly what I need and will provide it. Note the scripture says what I ‘need’ not what I ‘want’. There is a real difference and I have to constantly ask God if what I am worrying about is something I just want or actually need to fulfil my destiny in Him! I will seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. In Jeremiah 29: 12-14 God says “If you seek me with all your heart and mind I will be found by you”. I can choose to turn my heart and mind away from worry to seeking His will and righteousness for my life! I should not be worried about what tomorrow may bring or focus on what I dont have. In Hebrews 13:5 we are told - Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So dear brothers and sisters lets face today and tomorrow in faith whatever our needs may be. In Genesis 22:14 when provided by a ram by the Lord we are told ; “Abraham names the place Yahweh-Yireh (which means the LORD will provide). To this day, people still use that name as a proverb: On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided. We are the Lord’s chosen people, If we choose to stand on His mountain, then Jehovah Jireh will provide. It is written! I believe this and am choosing today to repent of the sin of worry and replace it with faith and obedience to Jesus words of truth and life! I hope you do too. Be blessed today and all days and may the peace and grace of the Lord which surpasses all other, guide and keep you safely this weekend in all you do! Amen. Please like, comment, share...
