A quick thought on Healthcare reform. Some folks that dont need subsidies get them, some folks that need them cant. Some folks that needed coverage were able to do so at a low cost thanks to the subsidies. My two main impressions were this. Very few people that were not covered before got coverage since almost everyone I helped already had group or individual coverage. The biggest thing I saw was that this is a huge incentive to NOT make money. Pay increases take away subsidy often times an increase in pay is not worth the loss of subsidy. I have seen way to many people request pay decreases or try to find ways to show less income so as not to lose their subsidy. This may actually help businesss though as employees wont be wanting pay increases every year!
