A real-life example of sustainability and off-the-grid living requires new partner. Interested? Five years ago Maureen Rooksby and I set out to prove it was still possible to live on little or no money, i.e. sustainably, as in the true meaning of the word. And started work on a 2.5 hectare site: EL POCITO in Almonaster la Real/ Andalucia/ SW Spain that would allow us to live self-sufficiently. It’s still early days, but already the need for income has been reduced dramatically, to around 4% of what a “conventional” household would spend. Another five years and it should be practically down to zero. Tragically though, Maureen (monkeyandsofia.wordpress) suddenly died last year, and without her input the future of the project is now in jeopardy. I am therefore looking for a new partner/ soul-mate to take her place and carry on with what she started (hopefully, but not necessarily, with an interest in developing the forest garden).
