A real life unsolved mystery made into a television series: Left: Texan former marine Larry Dickens died 1978 Prevented armed childrapist from driving away from a crimescene. Was shot in cold blood, 4 times in the chest with a .22 and 1 in the head with a high powered rifle. Right: Edward Howard Bell, currentely in jail for 1 homicide VERY LIKELY a Serial killer of children was caught and convicted for the murder of Dickens. Not convicted for any other cases he confessed too. The case: Noone made a connection to other missing/murder cases in Galveston even tho the killer was clearly a childpredator. So he was able to post bail and fled to Panama and was caught after a show called Unsolved Mysteries aired (first major acting part of Matthew McConaughey). The real mystery is this: Did Larry know that stopping this man, getting himself shot was worth it because it would mean catching a dangerous serial killer and did he sacrifice himself to prevent further murders (11 up to that time)? The 11 that went to heaven Bell, felt he was doing them a favor by killing and torturing them, how many more would there have been? realizing he would never get out of prison after a failed incredibly lawyerish sick attempt to blame Larry for killing Larry . Indeed one of the worst criminal minds ever. Remember that the cold calculated way this killer acted was a grim foreshadow of everything he has done or could have done.
