A really great time at the Bible College class last night. Good - TopicsExpress

A really great time at the Bible College class last night. Good questions and interaction as we dig into the book of Genesis. Who were the Sons of God mentioned in Genesis 6:2. What are the four voices we hear? What are the eight sciences revealed in Genesis? Which of the three sons of Noah did we descend from? What does created in the image of God mean? These are the type of questions we attempt to answer as we study together a survey of the Old Testament. If you do not know the answers you might consider setting apart Wednesday evenings to come and learn. The class is free. What we learn might just help us in knowing Christ. Remember to pray for our Bible College students. Robin, Matthew and Jordan. The classes are intense and the challenges are many but prayer undergirds them in their obedience to be there. Please also pray for Bob P. as he finds better housing and a steady income. He wants to move closer to the church. Keep Beckys mom in prayer as she is currently experiencing some of the negative effects of chemo treatments. Kim begins those treatments next week and it is intense. With colder weather coming lets pray for those on limited income that find it difficult to afford heating costs. The food pantry was able to stock the shelves recently. Continue to pray for this outreach to the many who come. Pastor and Kim continue to wait for a showing and subsequent offer on their home which will enable them to move into a smaller and more affordable home in the transitions they are experiencing. They have also drastically reduced the price on the small home in Calais and hope to move it in the next two weeks. Pastor Ron preaches on Sunday so lets keep the service in prayer. A love offering will be taken. When we give to the poor the Bible says it is like lending to the Lord and He always repays. Our plan is to begin a prayer and healing service this Monday and every Monday going forward (weather permitting). Will begin at 6:30. Come and bring a friend who needs healing and the Word. A short devotional message will be followed by intense prayer for one another. Little prayer we see little things happen, much prayer we see great things happen. Be a part of what God wants to do with us as we serve Him in these last days. Also our hope is to begin a lunch rap on Wednesdays at 11:30-12:30 in the fellowship hall. This may depend on how Kim takes the Chemo treatments but we are planning on this next Wednesday to be our first one. Bring a bag lunch and be prepared for a blessing. Fresh from the Throne October 3, 2014 The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter. (Proverbs 25:2). So many questions about life and the circumstances we encounter. So much speculation about what God looks like. Do pets go to heaven? What does heaven look like? What will we look like in heaven? Are we old or young when we get there? Will we know others there? When does the rapture come? Are we close to the end of all things? Once a person accepts Christ is he always saved? Does God give us a glimpse into hell? How can hell be a place of fire and at the same time be total darkness? Why does God allow adversity to visit us? Does God still heal today and if so why are some healed and others with the same measure of faith not healed? Why do we struggle with finances even when we are faithful to give as the Lord leads? Why does God allow tares to grow with the wheat? Is the Anti-Christ alive today? From what country or ethnic group will he come? Why isnt the United States mentioned in end time Bible prophecies? Many of our questions about life and God are waiting to be answered by a diligent search of the scriptures. It is the glory of kings to search out a matter. While there may be different opinions about some issues God encourages study. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15). The Greek language in which the New Testament was written is an exact language. Certain types of verbs used in the Greek language can drastically clarify the meaning of verses. It is vital that we allow the Holy Spirit to direct us into a deepening understanding of what God intended to convey. We need to understand that the scriptures cannot be broken. They do not contradict themselves. If we think we have found a truth but it contradicts some other truth then we need to search further. God is not a God of confusion. If we are confused we are the ones with the problem not God. But there are some things which God choices to keep secret. Some questions must wait until we see Him face to face. Jesus told His disciplines, I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. (John 16:12). Somethings we simply do not have a capacity to receive or understand. God teaches us ..order on order, line on line..a little here, a little there. (Isaiah 28:10). Our capacity for truth grows as we mix faith obedience to what we have already been taught. I shall run the way of Thy commandments, for Thou wilt enlarge my heart. (Psalm 139:32). Do not expect to grow in revelation if you refuse to mix faith to what God has already shown you. There is a time to search, and a time to give up... (Ecclesiastes 3:6). When God does not reveal it is either because we have no capacity to receive or we simply do not need to know. We need to rest in the faithfulness of God when He chooses to keep something secret. If our diligent search does not give us answers then we can trust God to reveal in due time. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8). It is good to ask questions. Ignorance is not bliss for the Christian. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge... (Hosea 4:6). But when God chooses to conceal a matter it is best to trust Him and know that when you need to know He will reveal.
