A recent article highlighting the measles outbreak associated with Disneyland (cnn/2015/01/21/health/disneyland-measles/index.html) points out the importance of vaccination and herd immunity. The same principles apply to vaccination of horses, even for diseases we rarely see or hear about anymore.
