A relatively quiet night in Suffolk last night during the first 12 - TopicsExpress

A relatively quiet night in Suffolk last night during the first 12 hours of the 4-day strike action by members of the Fire Brigades Union. Firefighters attended a chimney fire in Creeting St Peter, fire in the open in Halesworth, garden shredder on fire in woods in Lowestoft, fire alarm in a care home in Long Melford and fire in a villa at Center Parcs early this morning...this had been extinguished before the arrival of firefighters. There are about 20 fire engines currently available across Suffolk and we would encourage people to take extra care over the bonfire night weekend. Chief Fire Officer Mark Hardingham
