Oh, I know your on the edge of your seat wondering what the morning temperature is here, lol! We only got down to 34ºF/1ºC. Not many of these above freezing temperatures the last few weeks! Its too late to make a difference. The night the hoop hot house was left open and it reached 24ºF just about wiped out what was green in there. A benefit is the tomatoes are ripening fast. Too fast for our usage but theres not enough to bother doing anything with. The neighbors are happy to share the wealth! The best protected corn plants are giving out too. Most of the ears arent filled out really well but theyre good enough and, oh, so tender, sweet and delicious. The cobs are smaller than the standard tall corn plants but perfect sized for one serving! Im hoping the wind doesnt blow so bad today but there is a wind warning. Any rain that might find its way here will get blown horizontally into the next county. Well find out how well the hoop house is anchored! An inside project is a good idea Im thinking. Its time to get back to honey extraction. The 4 honey supers are stacked and waiting. The next part is to warm the frames so the honey will flow out easier without destroying the wax comb. I can easily heat them. Heating without overdoing it is my challenge today!
