A reminder to the husbands/brothers: Abu Hurayra stated, The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, The most perfect of believers in belief is the best of them in character. The best of you are those who are the best to their women. [at-Tirmidhi] -Riyadh as Salihin Very sad to see many brothers neglect their wife (ves) and are busy with other things, yet expect everything to be done for them from cooking to cleaning, washing to ironing etc as though she was not his wife/companion but a maid for his chores to be completed by and a machine to bear him children. Subhan Allaah how sad and disheartening is this to see a person being treated unjustly but yet you are helpless as it is not your place to say anything and when you do address them with what they are doing wrong they take no heed and throw it back in your face! We should fear Allaah and His punishment for being unjust. If we cant respect our partners nor fulfil our obligations and always keep ourselves occupied with friends and other things etc rather our family, wife (ves) and kids then really and truly we have no right to marry and be the cause of someones sufferings. We should educate ourselves regarding marriage and its virtues. Read the stories of the Prophets/Sahabas and their behaviour towards their wives and ofocurse follow the Quran as much as we are able to in dealing with our partners to fulfill our rights and obligations. Marriage is a blessing and we should take it in that sense, work to keep each other happy and fulfill the rights and obligations of our deen towards Allaah.
