A reporter gets a lead on a story about a really unusual pig, so he goes to interview the owner. After driving to the farm, he knocks on the door. The farmer answers and invites the reporter inside. I understand that youve got a very special pig here. says the reporter, Special? Thats not the word for it. Let me tell you some stories about that pig. About ten years ago, I found this pig by the side of the road. He had fallen off a lorry and been left for dead. So I rescued him up and nursed him back to health. About two years later the whole family was asleep, and the house and outbuildings caught fire. The pig broke the bedroom window, woke me up, and told me the house was on fire. The reporter is totally stunned. You mean, the pig can talk? Yes, thats right, he can talk, replied the farmer. This pig is now helping to perfect the cold fusion process, and hes also on the lecture circuit, making £10,000 per speech. Can we go and see this miracle pig now? asks the reporter. The farmer replies, Of course we can. So out they go into the farmyard, and there, sitting on the fence smoking a cigar, is a pig with a hind leg missing. The pig looks at the reporter and says, Hello there. Beautiful weather, isnt it? I havent seen weather this nice since last summer... The reporter is too shocked to respond. He hauls the farmer back into the house, and says, Youre right. The pig talks! The farmer replies, I know, I told you didnt I? The reporter looks a bit perplexed. Theres one thing I just cant work out, he asks. What happened to its leg? Well, says the farmer, when a pigs as clever as that you cant eat it all at once, can you?
