A repost: WAS JESUS A FUNNY MAN? PROVERBS 17:22 - A merry heart works like a medicine. Cheerfulness can heal us of all afflictions. If we are sick, we feel good when we are induced to laugh. I would like to think therefore that wholesome jokes that can tickle our ribs are from heaven. We need to distinguish however between clean jokes and idle talks which are a taboo in Gods Word. Sometimes in a contemplative moment, I pause to think if Jesus Christ had a sense of humor when he walked the earth. Are there any Bible verses that shows Jesus sense of humor or are there funny incidents recorded in the Bible? For me, when Jesus picked up some mud, spat on it and rubbed it on the eyes of a blind man to make the latter see was sort of funny if you chance to see it being done by another person on the street. When Peter drew his sword and cut the ear lobe of one of Jesus arresting officer, you may burst with laughter imagining the lobe bouncing like a rubber on the pavement. It will seem funny also to see our Lord chasing the bouncing flesh, picking it up and putting it back in place on the head of the officer. Jesus became as human as we are although the difference is he never sinned. But just like anyone, he laughed, he wept, he got angry and hungry and felt all kinds of emotions that we felt. Can you think of other funny situations in the Bible?
