A response to questions of who is speaking in our works: An explanation of Vox How does one explain something which is forgotten, copied, imitated, fashioned like an idol of worship and perversity for the people to behold - but in actuality is not the thing which once was? Please understand first that there is no modern reference for this Vox, this voice, in our culture at this time. Nor has it existed in many thousands of years. In those times of bareness this voice has been imitated, acted out, plagiarized, insinuated and falsely spoken. How do we know this? Because there have been no Priestesses in this time, with the True Voice. They are all dead, slaughtered, their secrets of the Voice clutched behind the tight lips of their Shades. But now they are returning, and the clarion call of their Vox calls many to Her service. But this call but also causes much confusion to a people who no longer realize what they are hearing. So let us be clear about this Vox, and the levels of hierarchy contained therein. The First Vox is the True Vox of Babalon Herself. This is Vox Babalonis or Vox Deae. This Vox speaks Her words, directly from Her lips, through Her Daughters and the Triangle of Manifestation. This process has been lost to history, but never forgotten with the Lineage. It will never be written in the books of men, nor could it be taught in such a manner. Men covet this voice, and have claimed it for their own throughout the history of the Ichthyos and the Aryans. When we write Babalons words from this Vox directly in our writings, we will always tell you so explicitly. We will state something to the effect of Babalon Herself from... so that there is no ambiguity about the source of the Vox which you are reading. The Second Vox is that of Her Daughter, who is Ninefold in manifestation. It is the Vox of the Hagia, Vox Sanctae Meretricis. She is able to speak in a voice which is inherited from Her Lineage. It is the Vox from beyond the Veil of Incarnation, and does not come from Her incarnated Persona. It is a Vox of both Truth and Prophecy - for there is no difference. The words contain their own proof of origin within them, and they resonate as such within the Spirit of the one who hears them. It is also the Vox which leads the Temple by Providence, second only to the Vox of Babalon Herself. This Second Vox was the fabled Vox of Pythia, later imitated at Delphi when the Aryans controlled the old Goddess cults there. They shackled those Priestesses to Apollo and made them inhale toxic vapors so that they would give up babbling visions which the Priests would then interpret for their own political uses. The Priests of the Oracle at Delphi became very wealthy and powerful by imitating the Priestesses of old, yet never once did they speak with a True Voice. The Third Vox is a Vox which is extremely rare, but is still able to be found to this day amongst a few Adepts. It is the Vox of their Spirit, Vox Animae, and it always shows forth as a voice of knowing, which is to say it speaks in Truth and Beauty. This voice is potentially achievable by many, but pursued by very few. In this age, the thought of ones audience too often dominates ones words when one speaks. Instead, the Vox of ones Spirit for its own sake must be allowed to speak as it Will, unfettered by the reactions of others. The best of the Arts may reach to this level - but only the best, and there is very little of that left in the world at this time. The Fourth Vox is the one which is inspired by the feelings of Spirit in the Waters and Fires of the Persona. This is the beautiful voice of the Arts, Vox Artis, and one which can speak much truth in the moment. But while it may speak Truth to some degree, it may also lack a little in the Spirit perspective which extends beyond the impermanence of the Persona. Many people today pursue such a voice in the words, images and arts of many sorts - and much of these efforts of expression are quite moving and worthwhile. For it is true that many people are in different relations to their Spirit, and many of these voices can reach those people in these many different places. Much of the Magickal Philosophy of Templum Babalonis is written in these voices. Book I is written in Vox Sanctae Meretricis by the Hagia. Books II and III are written in a mixture of Vox Animae and Vox Artis in narrative form, by the Hagia and others. Book IV is a mixture of Vox Sanctae Meretricis and Vox Animae. Trends can be started with the Vox Artis and social and religious movements by Vox Animae. Spirit itself can be manifested in the physical by the Vox Sanctae Meretricis and the manifestations of Aeons can be created and altered by Vox Babalonis. And while political organizations and marketing engineers will try to use and manipulate these voices for their own ends, they accomplish no more than demons do with the same tactics. For they can not imitate truth, or True Spirit. The source of the Vox is what defines its reach, and ensures its legitimacy. And it is ones Spirit which hears.
