A sad story to go with my car being towed to the shop today: I remember it used to be a safe feeling having AAA. When I had AAA come out to supposedly tow my car to the shop, the AAA ‘battery’ guy tried to tell me that I needed to buy a battery because ‘his tester’ said so. I am sure you already know that the batteries in a car are 12 volt. His ‘tester’ gave him a ‘replace battery’ the first ...time, and then a ‘battery needs charged’ the second time because his ‘tester’ said my battery was only 5 volts at that time. After a delay while he was sitting in his truck he told me a tow truck was going to come. After he left I put my ‘tester’ on it and it was 11 volts and definitely did not need replaced. Long story short, just the starter was replaced (which I already knew was the issue), and yes, I am reporting him! Sigh … (Member wished to remain anonymous.)
