A seminar with a MOC Legend, MOnday Feb 3 @ 6:30 in DBAC WB 113 What is a legend? well according to google dictionary: 1. an extremely famous or notorious person, esp. in a particular field. 2. a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated. In MOC there exists a legend of one individual and their adventures so epic, that no matter if you have been here since the beginning of time or some random guy sitting beside me in class, you will say, Ohh, ive heard of her!! And that legend is Maya March!. Maya is one of the original MOC leaders and a former assistant of outdoor recreation coordinator. In her hay day she lead some of the most epic trips this club has seen from hiking in the Rockies to her death defying adventures in Baffin! Over the last few years she has traveled all over the north from the Yukon to NWT. Now a days Maya spends her time at a very cool job as the site manager of Tuktut Nogait National Park in Yelloknife (pc.gc.ca/pn-np/nt/tuktutnogait/index.aspx) !! Maya is back in the hammer for just a few days and On Monday Feb 3 from 6:30 - 8pm in DBAC WB113 she will be giving a special presentation about her travels in the Yukon and NWT, her cool new job at Tuktut Nogait National Park, and answering any questions you have have.
