A serious salute should go to Lio Cerezo, Lio Kanine on Facebook, an O-town kid who started Kanine Records and has made a name for himself in the business of music. He broke Grizzly Bear, Northern State, Beach House, Chairlift, and over the past few years signed a number of amazing groups from the Central Florida area. Namely, Surfer Blood and two of the most amazing groups in my opinion to ever hail from the Sunshine State, Blind Mans Color, and Viernes....EPIC in sound!!!! and he had the good taste to give them a shot, not to mention lending a helpful hand when the occasion arises. Lios a true blue cat, not an ounce of b.s. in him. Hes an old skate rat who loves music and has fun making it his vocation. A night out with him can be anywhere from checking out a DJ set he arranged with Creations Alan McGee, waxing on a time he got some insider advice from Factory Records honcho Tony Wilson, to having drinks with artists who are coming to fore, or have already arrived. A hangover the next day is also a good possibility. :) Senor Cerezo certainly belongs in Orlando Music History. Id still say that even if I hadnt know him for 30 years.
