A short disclaimer: I am all for breast cancer awareness and prevention but I believe that the dialogue we have about cancer has to change so that peoples thinking can change. I cant count how many people have told me help support breast cancer lets find a cure! Or For breast cancer! How about instead we say lets prevent cancer! Help support cancer prevention etc. I truly believe that the courageous men and women that donate money and time have the best of intentions but Pink October is not something I can support in good conscious. For years now, The Susan G Komen has raised hundreds of millions of dollars annually to help find a cure but as you can see in the chart attached only 20% of the funds actually go to research for a cure...and why isnt any of the money going to something far more effective, like prevention. Lets teach people to stop using chemical foods, chemical deodorants, exposing themselves to radiation and to supplement to stay healthy! Take a look for yourself, there are plenty of resources online; get educated about your health.
