A short (rough) bit of documentation from the sounding today in Kitimat BC. Ive been so fortunate to have spent the past week in this amazing place learning and exploring. Hearing Haisla history from my host Eden and the development of the town and dam site in the early 1950s by Alcan; recording the dense air of the forests and spending two days trying to find a way to the river flats through the brush and always running into a braid of the river. Tonight I walked out to the point past the village and spent the last two hours watching the rain slow and the clouds lift from the straight while seals and herons sounded from around the shore. The glows turned to blues and then to black. Amazing. Just Amazing.
