A short while back, I discovered the game Dungeon of the Endless - TopicsExpress

A short while back, I discovered the game Dungeon of the Endless on Steam—a mix-breed of a few genres where multiplayer dungeon crawling meets tower defense. While the look of the game is beautiful in its pixel simplicity and the gameplay is solid, the characters were particularly intriguing with their own stories and personalities shining through, and that in itself drove me to play over and over just so that I could better delve into a mythos that this one title was hinting at through its quirky ensemble cast. What I didnt know at the time was that the developers for Dungeon of the Endless had also created two other games within the same universe that, based on the consistency of game titles, we will dub the Endless universe. Amplitude Studios is the developer for Dungeon of the Endless, but also created the earlier iterations Endless Legend and Endless Space, both of which provide the real setting and environment that Dungeon of the Endless merely exists within. I havent had a chance to play Endless Space, but Endless Legend is worth checking out particularly for Civilization fans in that it has the same core mechanics but with a far more stylistic and unique development in each of the potential factions available. In my experience with Civ games, the different leaders to choose from didnt provide nearly as much distinctiveness in their functions or appearance from one another as I would have liked, and that quality only becomes more apparent within the latest title in the series, Civilization: Beyond Earth. Endless Legend however seems to relish in its unusual and rich characters and environments, and the factions play quite differently from one another. When I have a chance to get through Endless Space, Ill make sure to post something for you guys on it, but until then, I can full-heartedly recommend the two titles Ive delved into so far. All three games are currently sold within a package over on Steam, and are available to Windows and Mac OS X users. You can of course also get the sold separately, but theres a lot to explore in the Endless universe so... you might as well get the pack. ~ Deo.
