A simple act of KINDNESS can be a MIRACLE to others. -mayachan I am writing this wonderful experience i had last night, as i wish to inspire my family and friends to always seize every opportunity to show kindness to others. PLEASE READ: My cousins dropped me off at Partas Terminal, Pasay City, around 8pm, lastnight. When i entered, i saw a full-packed-terminal with passengers going north. Then i went straight to a small booth where a man was distributing priority numbers to passengers. I was the 1573rd passenger for lastnight. Then the next passenger to buy his ticket was called--- passenger number 1320. As i heard it, i got so dismayed coz, it would mean 252 more passengers to be called before my number. So i approached a security personnel and asked, As passenger 1573, at what time will i be able to leave the terminal? He answered, You would be lucky if u would be able to leave by midnight. but perhaps your bus would be from 1-2am. Then i started to worry and felt hopeless. I went back to where i stood before. Then the lady beside me, who was seated on a chair, stood up. When i was about to sit down, an old lady approached me, then said, can i take the chair, coz i am with my granddaughter and we have been standing here for hours. (i have a very soft heart for old people. my close friends know about that)... so i left the chair and gave it to the old lady and her granddaughter. Then i stood back to where i was standing before. I just didnt know why but i lost track of time that i was already standing there for more than an hour and all i did while standing was sing a praise song (the chorus of the song EL SHADDAI) over and over again in my head. Considering that i have scoliosis, i am not suppose to stand any longer than 15 minutes or my back will start to numb. But i did not feel any pain last night in my back and neither in my legs. Then an old man, in his 60s, approached me. He asked me if i was alone, where i was going, and what was my stub number... i got scared of course, but i managed to return a smile as a reply to his question. (it was already 9:30 pm) Then he took something from his pocket. It was a stub with number 1384 written on it. He handed it to me and said, you may use my stub number, here... you may have it. you need to go and get your ticket now, you will be the next to be called. And indeed, the batch number where 1384 belongs was the next to be called! So i thank the old man and rushed to the ticketing booth. I was the first to have been issued with a ticket from the batch. Once i got my ticket, i hurriedly went back to where the old man was standing but i couldnt find him there anymore. I also tried to search the vicinity but couldnt find him anywhere. In less than 10 minutes, after i got my ticket, the bus bound for La Union came, and all 39 passengers from my batch started boarding. It didnt sink into my understanding until i was finally seated in the bus that what i experienced was actually a manifestation of a little miracle and a reciprocated act of a small deed of kindness towards others. When i was seated in the bus, i saw from my window more than two-thirds of the passengers (approximately 300 passengers) who came earlier than me, left waiting in their seats, while i only had to wait less than two hrs to be where i was seated. I thank my God for helping me last night. But most of all i want to reiterate to my friends that in our lifetime, we must realize that we are not perfect and we dont need to be, but let us make sure we grab all the opportunities to share kindness to others... because every little deed of kindness we share can be a miracle to others. Golden Rule: Do unto others what you want others to do unto you. Ang pagiging mabuti sa kapwa ay may kabutihang hatid. (When you do good to your fellow brothers and sisters, then goodness is brought forth to you)
