The future of the Fairgrounds still not determined after Markin Consulting presented their final report on the Feasibility Study. At Tuesday nights County Board of Supervisors meeting, the County Board voted to have the Public Property Committee meet with officials from the City of Merrill in discussions to create an organization in a joint effort to improve the Fairgrounds and to come back to the County Board in two months with a final proposal. City of Merrill Mayor Bill Bialecki spoke in favor of joining with the County to utilize tools that are available to the city that isnt to the county, including TID Financing. The vote was overwhelmingly in favor of joint venture between the two entities, 15-5. The joint meetings will be open to the public and all residents are encouraged to attend.
