A souvenir booklet from the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival signed by Jimi Hendrix has fetched $6,500 on eBay. The artifact also includes autographs from three members of the Mamas and Papas. The seller says his father was at the festival showcasing his work as a Santa Cruz-based artist when a friend collected Hendrix’s signature. The legendary guitarist wrote: “Be kool + be groovy and dig the sounds.” Hendrix famously set his guitar on fire during his performance at the festival, creating one of rock’s most iconic images.
