...A status was recently written about me and my family being bullies. Never do I ever use Facebook to clarify who I am or who my family is... But here I go... I have been going to University for the last 5 years. When I began my oldest son was 2 years old and my second child was a new born baby. I was a single mother at that time and I continue to be a single mother. I completed my first year of University with a 3.978 grade point average. So I knew that continuing with my education was the right thing to do. I began my second year of University pregnant with my third child and gave birth in December after my last exam, and I still continued on in January. In my third year of University my second child was 2 years old and was diagnosed with Rhabdomyo Sarcoma Cancer. Heartbreaking and shattering to any mother and family. I still continued on with my education though. Dian went through a year of Chemotherapy and 28 days straight for radiation. My 3 year program took me an extra year to finish because I dropped credit hours to be there for my son and family. I sucessfully obtained my 3 year BA and continued another year to obtain a 3 yr BA in Conflict Resolution Studies and 4 yr BA in Indigenous Studies. It was difficult but I did it. I did all of this for my children, for my family, for myself and for my community. Ive seen so many people turn on me out of jealousy, but I still smile and say Hi. Many people go through hardships and I always pray in the ceremonies and lodges that me and my family attend quite often. My family do everything and anything for those who struggle. We always give what we can although we have very little. We care alot and love others alot, especially our family and friends in our community. We speak the truth and bring issues to forward when we dislike something. So, to be labelled as both bullies and heartless is sooooo not who we are. It is quite upsetting to see small minded people speaking bad of both me and my family. But always pray for those who are jealous of you ans remember that the truth will always come forward.
