A ten-minute selection of clips from Teibele and Hurmizah, an adaptation of Isaac Bashevis Singer and Eve Friedmans Teibele and Her Demon. The play is a darkly humorous tragedy, telling the story of two doomed lovers whose romance allows them to escape the unbearable circumstances of their lives. The theme of disguise is at the core of Teibele and Hurmizah. In this production, which toured Baltimore in April 2012, actors faces were painted by the writer and artist Suzanne Gold so that they would be perpetually disguised, hidden. Amelia Beiderwell designed original costumes. Teibele and Hurmizah was accompanied by live Klezmer accompaniment (conceptualized and performed by Charm City Klezmer) and opened with videos by Mugi Takei and a live performance by Alexander Nemser. https://vimeo/62897370
