Ive always found the end of Summer & the beginning of Fall a little sad...kind of like, saying good bye to a good friend, you know you wont see for a long time...barefoot summer days, to wearing shoes, that hurt my feet... I never ever wore anything but flip flops in the summer, when I worked at the school... I was always off & home with my kids... I always had several of the kids from the school at my house...long, lazy, days spent exploring the woods, watching the birds, at the feeders, picking cherry tomatoes in the garden & black raspberries at the edge of the woods...we used to have a huge, above ground pool in the back yard & we played all day... I always had to make everyone get out of the pool while I fixed lunch & I groaned about it as much as the kids did...but, as soon as we were all done eating, we were back in the pool, until it was time for parents to start showing up... Fall is beautiful & all, with the changing of the leaves, but Id much rather be way too hot, than way too cold...winter has its own beauty too...but usually, not for long... Fall & then, especially winter is something we endure & put up with, until the weather warms & the flowers start pushing through the ground & we actually get to see some daylight, when we arent working & we look forward to seeing our old friend, again...
