A testimony from Liberia: Pastor Chuck and Pastor - TopicsExpress

A testimony from Liberia: Pastor Chuck and Pastor Titus, Greetings to you and your families in the name of Jesus Christ. I write to thank you and ELI Board for all you do. Your prayers, partnership, and financial support are encouraging, especially as my country fights the deadly ebola virus. Thanks and may God bless you! The fight against ebola is serious! It has and continues to claim the lives of men, women, and children across the country. Our government announces each day on the radio that she is fighting ebola, but there is no tangible prove really. Hospitals are still closed, suspected ebola patients are running from ebola centers, and the situation is going out of hand. It is cleared that the government of Liberia is overwhelmed and confused as to how the virus can be contained. Prayers are needed for Liberia, but at the same time whatever can be done to claim the intention of international health volunteers NOW, will be helpful. Let me in a special way thank Pastor Chuck, ELI board and Partners, and Churches for the prayers, and ongoing effort to encourage prayers and financial help for Liberia. May God bless you. As the fight against ebola continues, opportunities for ministry cannot be overemphasized. Many Liberians are discouraged, bereaved, sick, hungry, and stand in need of training. It is a privilege for me, my church, and Equipping Leaders International, to touch lives in a small way. I am currently involved with training of Pastors, leading community prayer and Bible Study and community awareness on ebola. Thankfully, worshippers and dwellers in New Kaymah Town are seriously following preventive measures. However, there are needs for buckets, soap, Clorox, and medicine .The awareness continues until ebola is kicked out of Liberia. Please remember my team in your plans and prayers. I have also been conducting several trainings for Pastors and Church leaders under the banner of ELI. The most recent training was held on Wednesday, August 13th and Thursday, August 14th, at LCMI Church. The two day training brought together 15 Pastors and we focused on Bible Study Methods. As it has always been, some Pastors expressed their gratitude for the invitation and admitted that the two day training was an eye opener for them. They requested that ELI consider a follow up training, something I am planning to do early September. Thanks to ELI for providing meals for the training. It was exciting, and yet challenging experience for Pastors who sat for hours, working hard to come up with the right interpretation of passages of scripture. Pastor Dennis Hargrave from the Narrow Way Christian Church had this to say: “This exercise is good, but does not call for lazy Pastors.” ELI training is a blessing and praise God for the transformation that is gradually taking place in the lives of many Pastors in Liberia. I personally pray that God will use ELI to transform the 15 counties of Liberia. Pastor Chuck, this is why your visit to Liberia is necessary. As you equip and commission us, we become motivated to go, equip and challenge others to go and apply Bible Study Methods. I’m honored to be a certified trainer of ELI (Liberia Team), and I pray that God blesses the works of our hands. Your Brother in Christ, Pastor Emmanuel C. Jonah ELI Certified Trainer
