A thank you message from the Head of TOLOnews Lotfullah Najafizada to you: The London conference on Afghanistan that was held last week was an opportunity for Afghans to speak about their future. The new government presented a reform and self-reliance roadmap, the civil society stressed on strengthening the democratic gains and the private sector called for regional economic cooperation, but most importantly the ordinary Afghans had a message too: telling the world leaders why Afghans are hopeful for a brighter future. Sahar Gul, an Afghan teenager who was subjected to torture and abuse by her in-laws, submitted a video message through ‘My Afghanistan, My Future’ campaign sharing her story from the dark basement in Baghlan where she was not fed for 20 days to her bright present attending school. The conference was filled with the voices of Afghans that told stories and illustrated hope of a transformed Afghanistan. I would like thank my fellow Afghans who submitted their messages to the campaign in the past month and generated hope in Afghanistan and beyond.
