A thought just occurred to me. I went to store today and I bought food today. I was weighing out the pros and cons of buying a larger portion of ground beef because it was on sale versus buying just what I needed for what I wanted to make for food, and I was calculating the cost differentials of buying the prepackaged meat in the regular meat coolers against hand selected meat from the meat counter, and I uncovered a disgusting realization - I was using math! In fact, I was using algebra to figure out the cost effectiveness per pound of meat combined with the other ingredients in my possible meals. HOLY SHIT! I cant believe I used MATH and ALGEBRA, and I realized I had done it in almost ALL of my everyday life in shopping and buying gas, and oil from the car parts place to change my oil . . . Believe it or not, you probably use your math education in about 80% more of your life than you realize. It IS important. Just a thought.
