A time to retrospect and use our subliminal mind to do justice to - TopicsExpress

A time to retrospect and use our subliminal mind to do justice to our heritage, a few days we saw influx of writing dangling on all social media eulogizing our nation on its achievement of 166 years of independence. While it was a very picturesque or fascinating thing to see, it is also imperative we start applying some pragmatism into our thoughts. Now that we’ve all gained some amount of severity or soberness, it would do us right to keep the quest for a more reliable society unquenched. Yesterday we listened to another empty long illogical speech from our incumbent’s (Unity Party) stander bearer, Liberia has too longed been govern by con-artist, people selling empty platform to us on a recurring basis. We cannot keep buying these bare talks. One Hundred Sixty Six years of independence with little or nothing to showcase, yet our leaders feel proud to stand and make flimsy statements on how they’ve achieved significant development over the years. Then again except otherwise, “significant development” from a Webster or Linguistic standpoint means sinking in penury and unproductiveness, I strongly beg to diverge with them. Frankly speaking I personally think it has reached a point we bring new faces, ideas and pragmatism to the table. Now in the wake to combat their selfishness, unproductiveness, narcissistic, evil and diabolical attitude, they hide under the phrase “Our Country just came out of war”. Ok granted our country suffered 14 yrs or recklessly but last time I revisited Liberia’s history, we’ve lived in a peaceful society for ages now, so spare us that (BS). No sooner we would be gearing up to the polls and then slogans of development will start flying from pillar to post, funnily enough; Liberians forget so easily and I won’t be surprised these same arrogant none productive evil men and women stirring the affairs of motherland come out victorious. Ellen and her cohort has failed us terribly and we need to start acting now to unseat these treacherous, perfidious, deceitful politician or our country will keep sliding into uncertainty. My dear brothers and sister of our beloved heritage, it is my fervent plead that we start making a sober choice of leaders to create hope for ourselves and our children, we’ve allowed these people to drag us in the mud for too long and there’s a point when enough becomes enough and people learn to take things with a firm grip. The elephant meat days of Liberia are over, let these butchers find their way back to the slaughter house and give our people the prospect of a better tomorrow. As I’ve started this quest, I’m certain there’s no turning back. I salute other resourceful and strong men and women who have penned this issue of growth and development tirelessly, Liberia is our common patrimony, the time is ripe for a more realistic approach and regain our consciousness. God bless Liberia!!!! Desmond Waka Doe Ernest Roberts, Vivian Neejay Innis, Pah K. Suku Jr., Aaron B. Kollie, Titus Nyenkan, Victor Nyenkan, Best Garlo, Rudii Vinton, Boakai M. Fofana, Alieu Amadu Kamara, Patrick Tarr, Calvin Johnson.
