A timely NEW BEGINNINGS extract from Tashas blog: Monday 15 December Ive swapped shifts with Lisa today so I dont need to be in work until 10. Id planned on having a lie-in but I couldnt get back to sleep after the alarm went off, so I got up and had breakfast with Jamie. Hes finally beginning to look better, and hes got his appetite back, although hes still coughing a bit. I think the two days off last week did the trick - he spent most of Wednesday and Thursday in bed - but I still think he should have had Friday off as well. His argument was that hed promised Carly that hed be at the Christmas party, but he wouldnt have felt right going to the party if hed had the day off sick. I swear theres no-one I know who is that conscientious about work. The party was brilliant, and its a pity we wont be here next year because wed definitely use that DJ again. The kids had a whale of a time, and Carly finally got her dance with Jamie (although not the smoochy one - Jamie had to explain that that wouldnt be appropriate and in fairness to her she took it really well). Jamie and I were home by 12, but the party was winding down by then and we didnt miss anything. We had a quiet weekend in Glasgow, mostly mooching around with Mrs M and Elspeth and the kids at home. Jamie slept a lot on the train up there, which surprised both of us and embarrassed him no end. He obviously needs it, though, and I was just glad that he didnt try and fight it. His Mum made a right fuss over him when we got there, trying to get him to eat something every ten minutes (okay not that often, but it felt like it) because shes convinced hes lost loads of weight (he hasnt; a pound or two, maybe, but nothing more) and needs feeding up. His appetite is still patchy at best, so he had to tell her to pack it in, and I think he only ate dinner to keep her quiet. The weather was horrible yesterday - rain and sleet all day - so we didnt go anywhere, and Im glad really because it gave Jamie an excuse to take it easy; if wed had a nice day and gone out somewhere with the kids, hed have run himself ragged with them like he usually does. We got home just after 7 last night, and it was still pouring with rain. We got soaked going from the train to the car, then again just running down the path to the house, and Jamie got a bad case of the shivers so I made him have a bath to thaw out while we were waiting for the heating to kick in. I was gagging to get in the bath with him but I knew I wouldnt be able to keep my hands off him, so I just changed out of my damp clothes and left him to it. When he came downstairs he was all flushed, so he must have had the water really hot. He was horny too, thank god, and I had him stripped and on the sofa in seconds once hed let me know. Hes still not 100% better, though, so I took over (which he loves) and it didnt last long but after over a week with no more than a hug and a kiss I was so ready for it.
