A transcript of a very good interview with a Trangender woman who medically transitioned in the 1980s. This is a first hand account, much of which I identify with. Ive said it before & Ill probably say it again, being accepted is obviously the preferred outcome for me but its not the same as being understood. The people who care to understand what (most) trans*people go through emotionally in 1. the lead up to transition (often many decades) & 2. Post transition obstacles, frustration & pain, are the people who I am naturally the closest to. The unfortunate thing about that comment is that it often doesnt include the people one would hope for.
