A tribute in loving memory to my 12th grade Mifflin English teacher, Joan Foley (May 23, 1929 to August 1, 2014)- I consider Miss Foley to be one of my great all time mentors. As a senior in high school, Miss Foley inspired me to write a thesis and read a book each week that helped me to become the avid writer and reader that I am today. My wife and I were fortunate to find and visit with Miss Foley a few years ago when I wrote and published my first book- Excellence in Construction, personally gave her a copy, and thanked her for the positive impact that she had on my life and that of the lives of all her students.
