A troubling public policy model in North Carolina could make its way to the rest of the country. Basically the right-wing in North Carolina is a closely integrated network of politicians, wealthy donors, and sham public policy think tanks. Conservative donors fund these think tanks, which then promote conservative ideology. They essentially act as a propaganda wing for the party. And now North Carolina newspapers are citing these sham public policy think tanks without disclosing their close ties to the Republican party in the state. Without the full disclosure from the press, these think tanks are essentially inserting the interests of their wealthy donors straight into the public policy of the state--and if the press doesnt care about that, who will? mm4a.org/1886YKx
