A two day meeting involving Judges, MEC Commissioners and law lecturers has commenced in Blantyre to highlight the role of the judiciary during the forthcoming polls. The judiciary has been an integral part of the electoral process as it has helped in some instances to address cases in which political parties have challenged the outcome of an election. Among other issues, delegates at the workshop will look at challenges that courts face during elections. The conference has been organised by the Democratic Governance Programme with funding from the European Union.
