A update on the 12$ incubator experiment On sunday we sold every bird we wanted to ,quail,ducks and chickens All incubated in a old microwave overn plus 12$ I asked the buyer who wholesales which chickens being the most money? His answer was exactly the two I had wanted to focus on a easter egger and Rhode Island Red I sold a old easter egger hen for 20$ knowing he will double the price ,there eggs sold for hatching bring 20$ a dozen ,olive green or Blue.I find them to be beautiful ,tough moderate egg layers ,a few blue ,white and many shades of brown eggs seel quickly at markets. So we ordered 17 live babys to be delivered Monday. My pet chicken as a kid was Liz a large rhodeisland red They lay the most 284 large eggs a year ours allowed to free range lay more. A smart chicken that will head for shelter when in danger they are good free rangers Ordering mahogany red incubateing eggs ,purdy dual purpose chicken. Emily Jean Coleman has that incubator loaded now ,a bigger one planned Some thinbgs work out and others dont ,knee deep in the learning curve now ,can you get hatching crocdile or alligator eggs?you can get all others? cheap way to get a flock going Having baby chicks year around to sell when usually only available in spring? the 150 green house has proved a good one as well. So glad i spent the 12 on it instead of chinese buffet that day
