A variety of fishing very common this time of year, especially in southern Italy, is the percoca. For peaches are some varieties of yellow peach, compact, and does not stand out, that is adherent to the seed, which are grown in different Italian regions. In most of Campania and Basilicata in some areas, there is a widespread custom to dip chunks of percoca in a container full of red or white wine, for storing in the fridge. In this specialty, which is eaten before drinking the wine and then eating peaches soaked in wine on the bottom of the glass, is a dedicated annual festival that is held in Siano.
