A very bitter interview by Vasiliy Shcherbakov, a volunteer from the Kyivan Rus volunteers battalion fighting in Eastern Ukraine. I am now on leave in my home city, Zhytomyr, west-central Ukraine. I look at the people here and think, folks, you are obviously confused about something. You pretend that the war we fight in the east does not concern you. It does. Understand, we are there to stop the mighty, enormous Russian army. If we fail, this slaughtering machine will come here. And they will do exactly what they have done in the cities in the east. They will level Zhytomyr to the ground, they will kill you and your children, they will humiliate your wives. Believe me, there is no cease fire. I was in combat that, since September 5, became only bloodier. Why arent you helping us? In my battalion, there are 12 Zhytomyrites - do you even know, do you care? Our government does nothing to equip us, we are hungry, cold, often sick, and we have no tanks or heavy armor. We are standing against the Russian Grad missile launchers and tanks. If you ask me, maybe the regular Ukrainian army could do what you guys are doing? - I will answer, you know, in the portion of the line of fire where I fight, these is no regular army. Its only us, the volunteers. We are dying there for you. Now, I keep hearing from people here that they are very busy because the new parliamentary elections are coming. What elections? Have you seen the lists of candidates? So many of them are the SAME swindlers, bastards who robbed you during the previous presidency. Nothing has really changed. In any case, I will soon go back to the frontier, and continue to fight together with my brothers. But remember this: one day we will return to Kyiv and shoot or hang all these corrupt government officials and all these fat and imbecile generals.
