A very difficult message to send out to friends and family, is one from a father having just lost his son. I received this text from Jim Parr yesterday morning: Tyler James Parr took his last earthly breath last night, May 1, 2014 at 10:30 p.m. He passed peacefully. We will certainly miss him. Tyler Parr, one of the most amazing young men I have ever known, fought a long, hard, 14 month battle with brain cancer. He never gave up! There was no option to stop fighting, he never complained, and even in the end when he could barely whisper, used sign language together with whatever he could get out, to say Thank You to a nurse poking him or whatever she had to do but was clearly uncomfortable for Tyler. When he couldnt prop himself up in the hospital bed the way he wanted to, Elyse Parr and Jill Johnson would each take a side, help him make a fist, and then support his arms and then together say, Okay, now push Ty! Again, it was important to Tyler to make sure they knew how much he appreciated their help so he whispered and signed to them, Thank you. Tyler was the most amazing son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, friend, boyfriend, and even just a plain old acquaintance you could ever hope to meet. Over the past couple of weeks his family and friends from as far back as elementary school, stood in hospital hallways, camped out in waiting rooms and stood around Tylers bed telling stories that made us laugh til our sides hurt, cry until we couldnt cry anymore, and bond and support each other the best we could. Tyler didnt lose the battle! He beat it in ways nobody else could! We miss you, Tyler. But until we meet again, we love you yesterday, today and tomorrow. Rest in peace...... Love, Aunt Cheryl, David Andrew and Vanessa Parr
