A very emotional and bittersweet day today. Rubys hearing aids were ready and were fitted to her ears. Her initial reaction were tears and sadness as she didnt like the audiologist touching her ears, the next thing she did was look at me with amazement in her eyes, that she could finally hear my voice clearly. We hugged and hugged and I had tears rolling down my face. For those that dont know, Rubys hearing was significantly affected by the chemotherapy and she has lost approximately half of her hearing permanently and will require hearing aids for life. She went very well today and the audiologist said that she will probably only tolerate them for 5 minutes at a time at the moment but she has worn them today so far for about 5 hours and is going very well with them. We are so proud of her each and everyday. Here is Ruby and her daddy enjoying story time tonight. Xxx
