A very important question: When an armed officer is obviously lost - TopicsExpress

A very important question: When an armed officer is obviously lost control and has upholstered his firearm can we defend ourselves with deadly force or are we automatically wrong? In many states if you shoot a cop, it could lead to the death penalty. Using the same logic that LE agencies use for their use of deadly force, an LEO that becomes violent and that a rational person feels they may be in fear of their life, we should be able to defend ourselves if no other option is available. In California, several officers beat a handcuffed homeless man to death. Are we as citizens required to let it happen? The minute a citizen rightfully intervenes on the behalf of a handcuffed family member that is being beaten severely, the police have the right to shoot him dead. Are we required to stand by in horror as a restrained citizen is beaten to death? It is at that point that the LEO’s have lost the protection of law and are now a common criminal committing a criminal act
