A very moving letter from a fan, shared with permission... Dearest Raffi, I wanted to take a few minutes to convey to you how very much you and your beautiful music have meant to me for the last ~35 years. My fondest childhood memories are always accompanied by a song from Rise And Shine, or Corner Grocery Store. To this day, my youngest daughter still chooses Raffi in the car over any other songs. Not easy when you have older teenage sisters whos musical influence can take hold on a young sister rather quickly My favorite for the past few years has been Lets Play. Amazing songs. Im very fond of how your repertoire has grown beyond the singable-songs-for-the-very-young - those are amazing too, but to hear your talent shine through in songs with perhaps a broader audience in mind has been a tremendous joy. Swing is still my favorite memory of my now 13-year-old - her independent, carefree belting out of it on the swing, or in the car, is a favorite memory to this day. My youngest now sings Jane Jane, and Jiggledy-Jill, constantly. Blessed Be, and May There Always Be Sunshine - well, lets just say that I tend to have a little something in my eye when I hear these songs. Watching her wash her hands? I Wonder If Im Growing. Feeling a little lonely or lost? Theres a Big Beautiful Planet in the Sky. Joshua Giraffe is still one of the silliest and favorite songs in our home. Before Facebook, I had to share my first daughters pics and experiences on a homemade website, so her family around the continent could keep up with her. The song I chose to play when the page opened? To Everyone In All The World. Everything Grows is also a beautiful album. I can still hear my oldest singing bearses, carses, whereses in her sweet little voice. Anyway, today I rediscovered Bananaphone, havent heard it in a few years. I forgot how many amazing songs were on this one too. My soon-to-be-6-year-old gets to hear these for the fist time now, too. How exciting. I could go on and on, but I really wanted to let you know what a big part of my life you have been, and are every single day. Thank you for the blessing that is you, Raffi. -Cale Bouscal, Calgary
