In the 1600s, Aurangzeb(r.a) brought together 500 scholars of Islamic law to compile the Fatawa-e-Alamgiri, which served as the code of laws for the Mughal Empire.. One of Aurangzeb’s main goals was to bring true Islamic governance to the Mughal Empire.
